LOVE | Gabrielle & Ben
Bride: Gabrielle Klingberg
Groom: Ben Caruso
Wedding Date: 2 nd February 2019
Photographer: Jesse Hisco

How did you meet
We actually first met at high school and had mutual friends, but it
wasn’t until a few years after University that we started dating.
How did he pop the big question
We were about to fly to Italy for a holiday and I was rushing home after work to get changed and quickly jump in the taxi. When I got home there were flowers on the doorstep, and as I walked inside the house the hallway was lit up with candles and our favourite native flowers in vases all the way down the hall. Ben was standing in the middle holding a gorgeous red protea and asked me to marry him.
Of course, I cried and said yes!
Wedding Fever
Where did you get your inspiration
We both love modern styling and structured lines with an abstract kick, and our favourite colours are pink and green! We definitely played on these aspects throughout the wedding day.
Tell us about your wedding style
Modern and simple, but fun, with a quirky edge
(we did have fluoro pink Perspex shards hanging from the ceiling of a warehouse)
The most memorable part of your day
Saying yes to marrying my best friend
The most challenging part of planning your wedding
Finding a venue to seat 220 people that was unique and allowed us to be ourselves
(P.S. We drove our Kombi van into the reception whilst Beyoncé was blaring)
Where did you honeymoon?
Spain, France and our favourite, Italy.
What does marriage mean to you?
Finding someone, and not wanting to miss a single
moment with that someone
Any advice you can give to future brides and grooms planning their wedding?
Have fun choosing your music for your first dance. It was a moment that our guests still talk about!

Sok, you were an amazing artisan to work with. Your calm nature meant that I always felt
relaxed coming in for appointments, and never felt rushed or forced into making any
decisions. You designed something that I had in my head which no one else knew about,
and it made me feel amazing on the day to see it all come together. Thank you for your
beautiful skills, and for making my dream dress come to life, cape and all!

This is Their Love Story
A Note From Sok Hoffmann
Gabrielle first came to me about a year before the wedding and her vision was as clear as sunshine. Anyone who knows me knows I like direction and so I listened in on everything she wanted in the perfect gown. I was immediately drawn to the idea of a cape and a classic silhouette with fabric being the main feature. I spent many hours perfecting the overall pattern of the gown first as lace would be limited with no room for mistakes. You see, we had Gabrielle's lace custom made which took a fair few months and the cape was again redesigned and hand beaded. The biggest challenge I faced creating Gabrielle's gown was eliminating the typical stiff heavy structure for a more comfortable laid back structure that was light enough to wear and easy to move and sit in. I read their Love Story with tears in my eyes to my husband as I understand that same feeling of "friends from high school". It's just magic!!!!...I wish you both the very best in life and blessings for many years to come. X
